Mission and Goals

ISCN Mission

There are several methods for process assessment, measurement, and improvement, which can fit together in an overall process improvement framework. ISCN encourages the combined use of such approaches and methodologies by using effective teamwork with experts from different projects and fields. All ISCN experts have Automotive SPICE, Functional safety training and have development experiences as Coaches or engineers in series development projects in Automotive. A statement by one of our lead customers, BOSCH AS, is that ISCN engineers still have development experience and are not just consultants. It is good to know how it technically works when consulting processes.

Integrated Services with Tools, Experienced Engineering Teams and Access to Industry Experience Networks:

  • Assessment Portals: New assessment portal including learning organisation functionality. Beside team assessment functions the new release of Capability Adviser supports online multimedia lectures and tutoring of best practices
  • EuroAsiaSPI: ISCN founded 1994 the European Systems, Software, Services Process Impovement and Innovation initiative with an annual conference since 1994 where European leading research and industry contribute. Majo industry like Volkswagen, ZF FRiedrichshafen AG, BOSCH, Elektrobit, HELLA, Continnetal Automotive, etc. contribute.
  • SOQRATES: In 2003 the bavrain Software initiative formed task forces of leading industry toshare knowledge about Automotive SPICE, Functional Safety, Traceability. Since 2004 ISCN is moderator of the task forces. Since 2015 a task force for Cybersecurity has been added, to support the Autonomous DRiving and come up with agreed design patterns.
  • Functional safety management: ISCN has core partner of EU projects where functional safety manager and functional safety engineer training with European certificates has been developed. Trainings are currently held at ZF, AVL, Renesas, Hidria, Infineon, etc.
  • University networks: ISCN is core member of AQUA (Knolwedge Alliance for Quality In Automotive) and AQU (Automotive Quality Universities) where FH Joanneum, TU Graz, TU Ostrava, FH Duesseldorf, and Grenoble INP jointly agreed material and ECTS to teach quality engineering in Automotive including new norms like ISO 26262 for functional safety, ISO 15504 for Automotive SPICE, and SAE J3061 for Cybersecurity in cases of Autonomous and Self Driving Cars. Dr Messnarz from ISCN is teaching QM at FH Joanneum in Graz, Austria.
  • Consulting and coaching teams with development and ASPICE experiences: SPICE assessors with practical management, mechanical engineering, SW development management and quality experiences (Creator of Multi Competent ISCN Teams)

Access to Knowledge Partnerships:

What makes ISCN teams special is that we are not just assessors, we all have technical education and development experiences and can offer practical implementation know-how.
